FUN FACTS : Apollo has a wonderful disposition, is highly intelligent and loves working especially with Zoran his handler.  Zoran, a bachelor, saw Apollo for the first time in the training fields of the Mine Detection Dog Center, in Konjic, Bosnia Herzegovina, where the dogs for Bosnia, the Balkans, and Southern Europe are trained for this important job.  He said “When I first saw him I wished that he would be mine, my wish was granted”.

This kind man had decided after 10 years of demining to make a career change and become a Mine Detection Dog Handler.  He had seen dogs working in the minefields of his country and saw how quickly they were able to clear the land, incredibly faster than a human can do, and became intrigued.   After waiting 3 years Zoran was finally accepted into the Mine Detection Dog Program.  Apollo and Zoran trained together at the MDDC and began working with Pro-Vita, a Mostar headquartered demining organization dedicated to making Bosnia Herzegovina Mine Safe, in early 2006.
