Utsi is a beautiful Belgian Malinois
who was born in the Netherlands in August of 1999. Her
primary language is Dutch!
Utsi was trained at Global Training Academy in Somerset,
Texas, at about 18-months old. After that she was deployed
to Africa where she worked for FIVE YEARS! This wonderful
dog “sniffed for mines” and saved lives in Eritrea,
serving that country well.
Utsi was retired back to Global Training
Academy in the summer of 2006 and adopted by The Marshall Legacy
Institute to serve as the official Canine Ambassador to the CHAMPS
Team.
CHAMPS Assistant, Rachel McCasland, takes care of Utsi. Rachel
walks her, makes sure she has fresh water every morning, feeds
her in the evenings and walks her many times during the day to
make sure she is kept in perfect condition. Utsi lives
with Kimberly and Rachel McCasland in Orlando, Florida and she
flies at their feet on airplanes when they travel.
Utsi’s favorite toy and reward is…
The KONG!!
