Global Training Academy (GTA) in San Antonio, Texas

Our CHAMPS dogs are either trained by the Global Training Academy or trained by the MDDC Mine Detection Dog Center in Bosnia, which was established in 2003 by the Global Training Academy with funding from the State Department. The GTA's dog trainers initially taught the MDDC handlers (not the dogs!) in mine-detection techniques.

Global Training Academy (GTA) is the only organization in the United States that trains Mine Detection Dogs (MDD’s). As a well-established and highly reputable organization, GTA has trained more than half of the Mine Detection Dogs working worldwide.

Here's the proof:

they’ve trained and deployed  more than 50% of the 850 dogs working in 27 mine affected countries (of the 72+ mine affected countries there are only 27 that have mine detection dogs)

they've lost less than 1%  of their dogs and/or handlers in the last 8 years while working in the minefields.

That's an incredible record, they are an incredible group, and CHAMPS is proud of our association with them!!

Here's more:

Their expertise is not limited to MDD’s.  GTA trains all types of police and military dogs.  Their dogs have been sent all over the United States and the world.

Why don't you visit their site and have a look around. They have a wonderful map on their website that shows where their dogs are working in the US and around the world and a fun photo gallery.
