What Is CHAMPS International?

CHAMPS International links students in the United States with students in mine-affected countries to assist young landmine survivors, giving young people the opportunity to become involved in mine issues.

How is it different from domestic CHAMPS?

While the original CHAMPS program is focused on raising mine awareness and supporting mine-affected countries through the sponsorship of mine-detection dogs, CHAMPS International is focused on survivors’ assistance, encouraging American youth to interact with mine survivors their own age across the world.

Where is CHAMPS International active?

Extensive programs have already been established in Afghanistan, Bosnia, and Lebanon, and Vietnam. Later this year, CHAMPS Int'l will extend to Iraq and perhaps Yemen!

The Marshall Legacy Institute (MLI) and CHAMPS Director, Kimberly McCasland, want to send a very special Thank You to Mrs. Joan Wismer.  Mrs. Wismer has kindly donated the funds to build the websites for CHAMPS Kids and CHAMPS International, and has donated enough to allow for the purchase of all electronic webcams and equipment to connect the CHAMPS Campaigns from around the world.  Thank you Joan, for your caring heart that makes all of this possible!!
